I might be wrong, but I feel this example is misleading.
From what I can gather, N1 + に応じた + N2
happens when we modify N2 (see Dict of Adv Japanese Grammar p.414, and HJGP p.460). And according to the first reference, in that case, N + に応じた + N often means “suitable to”.
So as far as I can tell, both に応じた
and に応じて
should be accepted (実力に応じた could be a noun modifier for 練習), whereas only に応じて
is accepted right now.
Alternatively, adding a 、
before 練習 would make it clear that に応じて
is expected?
We have added a 、before 練習 to make it clear that we are asking for users to submit に応じて as the answer!
