(A) かたがた (B) is a formal expression meaning that the speaker/writer, on the opportunity of doing (A), does (B) as well, or does (B) for the purpose of (A). It has a strong nuance of respect towards the addressee, therefore it is used in formal letters to superiors, clients, and such. It often follows nouns like お礼、挨拶、報告、お見舞い.
