What is the difference between に代わって and かわりに? The former feels more formal, but that isn’t noted in the grammar explanation if so.
Based on this video and the other reading it’s like so,
〜かわりに - casual/semi-formal
〜にかわって - formal/business
〜にかわり - formal writing
Also, based on some other reading 〜にかわって is almost exclusively used with people.
Question about this one. The grammar point has に代わって where the Kanji only stands for か but the sentences all have に代って where the Kanji stands for かわ according to the Furigana. According to wiktionary it’s に代わって. Is that right?
Hey @kc37922 !
This seemed like a typo on our end so we have just fixed it!
Thank you for letting us know about this!
