Have you done your BunPro Review today?

After having let my Bunpro lapse for almost the whole summer, I ended up signing up for the JLPT N4. After digging myself out from my backlog, it seems that if I can add 3 new grammar points a day, I’ll have covered all the N4 points by the 23rd, which should leave plenty of time for things to sink in (I hope).

Also managed to finish my vocab for the day on Anki.

Also signed up for the JLPT! Drilling both BunPro and a test practice book to get ready. I’m not quite there yet but I’m staying positive for December.

I’m back after a bit of vacation. On Friday, my next term at Japanese language school will start and we will start N3, and I still haven’t finished N4 here on BP and I’m not sure I’d want to speed through the last 30ish points either. Although I do know some of them quite well, maybe half of them, so those ones shouldn’t be so bad.

But I’d really like to get through rest of N4 fairly quickly so I can try and keep up with N3 here on BP along with class. ^^

Currently up to a 9-day streak and averaging about 85% or so, but I’m also reviewing with Shin Kanzen Master N4, and it’s not going well. Starting to get a little worried.

I missed Bunpro over the long weekend (Canadian Thanksgiving), but got back into it Tuesday. I’m feeling more optimistic about the outlook today, I think my current routine is starting to pay off.

Hi all, dropping in for a bit of accountability. Currently on a 24 day streak but still going through N5 stuff which I thought I knew.
I want to start adding N4 as I have Shin Kanzen Master here waiting to go but I thought I’d review the basics first and it’s taking longer than expected…

Hi and welcome!

The better you know the basics, the easier it will be to build on the more complex stuff. That is definitely true for Japanese grammar. So take the time that you need for it.

Personally, I haven’t added many new grammar points lately, but my review count doesn’t seem to go very low. I guess I have a lot of higher SRS items coming in for review. Plus this new term at Japanese school sees us using two different textbooks and I’ve not gotten into a groove with studying for this term and schedule yet. Hopefully I will in another week or two.

Between Thanksgiving and the weekends, I didn’t finish adding N4 grammar points by today, but I’m still on track to finish by Hallowe’en. That still leaves a month for things to solidify and I can turn my efforts towards reading and listening practice.

Got my test voucher last night!

I just zeroed my BP reviews. Tripped up Adj + の(は)

I answered 熱いなも好きだから、エアコンがなくてもいい。 instead of 熱いのも好きだから、エアコンがなくてもいい。

I just (re)added three lessons on だが、だんだん、かた。I also saw its related lessons, どんどん, I didn’t really get it because I didn’t really comprehend the English explanation, d’oh. だんだん, little by little. どんどん、fast/rapidly.

I always zero both my BP and WK, if not every day, at least once every two or three days lately.

I’m on WK Level 31 now. I have many leeches. I used to have more than 200 leeches on Guru, but they seemed to move away, I didn’t really notice them, what I did, just do Self Study Quiz to kill them in Apprentices, and do my Kitsun Mining+Leeches deck to kill them in Gurus. It really feels harder and harder. I must be able to know similar kanji differences. I’ve seen many Wanikanians reset after reaching 30’s or 40’s. I really must tame these leeches, kill them, otherwise, if I carelessly just add more and more (more and more difficult) kanji lessons, I’ll be like them.

I did many other things in my Japanese learning, but I only have time to post about WK & BP related this time.

Streak 300! Just 65 more days until I reach the (probably non-existent) 1 year badge!

I’m also back on track with finishing all the new grammar points that are added. I am disappointed by how slow N1 is taking but I get that they’re busy so in the meantime I’ve found a workaround by adding my own sentences. It’s not ideal, but it’s better than nothing.

There’s only a month left before the JLPT so I’m now in review mode.

I’m taking practice grammar tests about every other day. I’m staying late at work to go through the Shin Kanzen Master Reading book. Vocabulary has taken a major hit because I’m burned out of doing a ton of SRS reviews. I originally wanted to go through the Sou Matome Vocabulary book like I did for N2 but I honestly think I won’t get around to it. I’ll skim it and only add words that I truly think I need to know. (Like the adverbs/onomatopoeia/etc.) And for Listening I’ve been putting the N1 and N2 JLPT Stories on repeat. They’re not really the equivalent of the actual listening portion, but it helps reinforce the grammar points.

@lopicake that’s an awesome streak!
Looking forward to seeing if there is a one year badge!

I’m still adding n5 points while working through Shin kanzen master n4 and adding those. I’m only able to meet with my tutor every second week so I really need to put in more time on my own.
My vocab lists are getting so long I wonder if I’ll ever get on top of them. They mostly seem to be words related to weaning and baby health check ups. Everything I look up in the day goes in an imiwa list and I’m slowly adding them to quizlet.
I’m focusing on the vocab lists over kanji now because these are words I need everyday.
But I do need to get some kanji practice in. Actually my recognition/understanding is not too bad but I’m stumped if I have to read aloud as I can’t remember the readings.
I’m taking my daughter to the play centre a few times a week so kids songs and sounds are coming a long a treat. And watching lots of kids tv too.
I’d like to get a bit more structure going but most days some bunpro reviews and a look over my new vocab is all I can manage time wise.

Stats for October says I only missed 8 days the whole month. I’m super proud of myself for that. 3 more days’ worth of N4 items to add, then it’s just reviewing my butt off before the JLPT next month.

Hoping to finish up Shin Kanzen Master N4 in the next two weeks, so I have time to go over the two official practice tests. I have Grammar, Reading and Listening, Core2K for vocab, and KKLC for Kanji, and 3-hour classes once a week.

Finally finished adding N4 grammar points yesterday! Now I’ve got 3 weeks to try and exorcise some ghosts and cement the last little bit in my head.

Whelp. I finally forgot to do reviews one day and my 320~ streak is now broken. I was going to go for 365 days and then let it die, but I guess now it is dead anyway. No more BP on days off and vacation. Will be nice.

Sucks that you lost the streak, but giving yourself permission to take a day off now and then will help things feel less like a chore.

My thoughts exactly.

Passed a 50 day streak and feeling good about it. Since I maxed out WaniKani I’ve had more motivation for BunPro.

I just reached 320 myself! I’ll carry the torch for the both of us. ; n ;

That’s where I was just a year ago! (Last December)

I was level 24 here when I finally felt like I had time to my shift focus over from WK (which was after ~6 months of reviews since reaching 60). I’ve still got that streak going, actually… 341 days as of today :stuck_out_tongue:

Now, after 2.5 years of WK and a year-long streak of BP, I’m hoping to absolutely breeze through the N2 in ~10 days. I’m still a little bit worried about my listening comprehension, and maybe my time spent playing RPG’s in Japanese won’t be super helpful for the type of vocab that’ll be on the test, but we’ll see how it goes

I don’t remember exactly where it was, but pretty sure that it was 320+ but less than 330. ^^

Also leveled up and managed to get about 25% of the xp for the next level in the same review pile (27 reviews).

I haven’t done reviews on BP nor WK since Monday because I’ve been busy. Well, not I have done the BP reviews. I’ll see if I’ll start reducing the pile on WK today too, except I really need to do a pile of other stuff. -.-’
