Immersion Log Let's try something new!

I read a volume of blue Excorsit Today.
I flagged 10 words I didn’t know in chapter 7 of Inuyasha. I haven’t looked them up yet tho

焚き火[たきび]
引っかかる☆
落ち武者☆
足り込む
マヌケ
斬る
刻める

I tried watching Shirokuma Cafe months ago (June-ish?) but I gave up on it because it was too hard and just felt like pain.
Today I watched the first two episodes and noticed a massive difference compared to back then. It feels good, despite it being considered the absolute beginner immersion material in a lot of communities I looked up back then.

Recently I have started fishing so I have been reading a lot of Yahoo fishing blogs and watching Daiso lure reviews on YouTube. Fun to learn a new set of vocabulary.

For the Adventure game/Visual Novel gamers out there, I have really been enjoying the current engine for the newer Key/Visual Arts games and remasters. The ability to instantly toggle between Japanese and English with a single key stroke is amazing.

Watched the first 3 episodes of the new series of Love Transit. It’s the girlfriend’s choice but actually real good for natural conversation listening practice.

I wish I studied more. i fell behind on anki reviews. Still haven’t put the new words into anki
I brought Quartet to Japanese class - but sat with ‘N4’
Quartet puts the reading comphension questions Before the text. So we spent the whole 2 hours reading the questions- and didn’t start the passage.
I did watch 2 hours of ancient magus bride here https://youtu.be/0nkSEHrbTb4?si=LLAuMlyoI-8Bd-SH

Four weeks ago I started watching 私を食べたい、ひとでなし with English subtitles
The dialogue seemed simple enough, so today I rewatched ep1 without subs.

I think I’ll watch it weekly, and let the no-sub lag those 4 weeks behind, because that’s enough time to remember what generally happened but forget the dialogue.

It’s a good anime, it’s current season and the episodes are releasing weekly.

I also watched some more Shirokuma cafe.
I feel like I’m slowly reaching the point where immersion no longer feels like a pain.

The VA is doing SUCH a great job, I could listen to her for hours (hope she gets an award or something for this role). So this one is def on my watch again (this time wothout subtitles) list, too

Yes!!

I really love the MC’s internal monologues. Probably the first time I rewinded because I liked it and wanted to hear it again, rather than for not understanding something.

As someone who consequently sticks to his plans I watched some more 私を食べたい、ひとでな, almost catching up despite what I initially said.

And some more しろくまカフェ. But I think I’ll drop it. I don’t like it a lot and I’m only watching it because it’s “understandable”. If I find something I like more on a similar language level, I’ll drop that.

The moment I started understanding しろくま i noticed how utterly boring it was  I liked wonderful precure very much, but couldn’t get into the other precures. Even if you’re not into magical girls, I would give this one a try at least. It’s very easy

Edit: As a bonus, wonderful precure features the VA from 私を食べたい、ひとでなし as one of the precures

Not immersion, but I’m feeling better about my anki reviews Today.

I watched a kids program about イナゴ grasshoppers and another Episode of Blue Exorcist. I finished the Aomori part.

I also Volunteered at the community center to teach people how to make mashed potatoes and gravy?? In Japanese. I’ve litteraly never made mashed potatoes or gravy. so wish me luck!

I’m sure at the very least they’ll call you mashed potato上手

Good luck!

I watched 星追う子供, taught people how to make mashed potatoes and gravy and Read book 2 of Inuyasha.

I take back what I said about shirokuma cafe, I’ve been consistently watching between 0.5 and 1 episodes a day. It’s convenient that a 20 min episode is usually split into two plots…

Slowly I’m approaching the point where I can see that immersion is doing more than SRS and I should definitely immerse much more.

This immersion log is cute! Is mostly everyone here studying in Japan or in other countries?
