Animal Crossing is basically a life simulator with animal neighbors, but much more relaxed than regular life: it’s what people call a “cozy game.” The premise of every AC game is that you move to a new town and you do a variety of everyday tasks. You can catch fish and bugs, collect shells, decorate your town/island, decorate your house, talk to your neighbors, donate items to the town museum (they take fish, bugs, fossils, and artwork), and so on. There’s a ton of dialogue, so it’s good reading practice. From what I’ve gathered from your posts here, I think this would be a good game for you. It’s low-stakes and you can just pick it up for a few minutes here and there.
As for Pokémon, my recommendations are largely based on what you have access to. I would recommend the 3DS games, just because I like them better. But since the 3DS and its games are discontinued (RIP), let’s just focus on the Switch games. Now, for most of the games, there are in hiragana, but with the option to turn on kanji but without furigana. Scarlet and Violet, however, have kanji with furigana which is a more learner-friendly option. The best part about the games is that you can choose the game language at the start of the game: this is true for all 3DS and Switch Pokémon games. This way, the game can be in Japanese even with English Switch settings.
Sorry for the long post! I hope that helped at all!
