Btw, where does the grading of the exams actually happen? Do they ship all answer sheets to Japan to process them over there? That’s more or less the inefficient image I have of Japan’s institutions.
I thought last year’s results came out late because of a huge cheating scandal
Shipping paper originals to the grading institution as soon as possible sounds quite reasonable to me.
What would you propose instead, process sheets in each test center around the world and create opportunities for mistakes and corruption? Digitalize, shred, and eliminate any possibility of investigating cheating? Task every test center with securely storing originals?
Not to mention that shipping 1 parcel to a central location set up for high-volume processing is probably cheaper than paying staff at each testing location for processing.
I propose they send them to me and I’ll give everyone 180
Yes, there have been rumors, but if I remember correctly, it was the sheer number of tests. Every year the number of participants grows again.
whats ur plan if you pass but its barely a pass
- forge ahead to the next level in july
- forge ahead to the next level in december
- forge ahead to the next level but next year
- retake the same level in july
- retake the same level in december
- something else?

N1 takers
………
n1 takers are banished to the shadow realm
I don’t find it valuable as (for N5-N4-N3 levels, I don’t know for the others), they just give a general score for listening or writing part. Not grammar part or reading part. So pretty useless for me.
also another poll bc i love polls and they are fun
What level did u take and how do u feel about it
- n1
- n2
- n3
- n4
- n5
- feel good
- feel meh
- feel bad

oh well if it is a week later, I get an extra week of being lazy as I’ve made ‘waiting until I get JLPT results’ my go to excuse…
“put the xmas decorations in the loft? pfff… would love to but I’m still waiting on that JLPT result”
Coming soon: “Take out the trash? Dang…you know I’d love to but I just got the JLPT results, so I gotta lock in for the next one”
ドキドキワクワク
Random thinking aloud
- a lot of people on reddit are saying this test is getting more participants so grading will take longer… but I also think probably this round had the most disqualifications ever due to the new phone rule and people not listening/understanding. Probably not enough to nullify the impact of a higher rate of participants, but I do wonder how many people got disqualified in this test compared to previous tests
- theres no post about them coming out next week, is it possible they come out in feb this year due to the huge number of participants?
- does any of this matter?
- to answer my above question - for me, no, there is nothing but my inability to wait that is making this intolerable, but for other people who might be using it for other things it must be even more frustrating
- waaaaaaaaaaaaaa why do I put myself through this every year
For Japan takers, there is finally an announcement that result will be available online starting January 30.
The struggle continues for another week
First, thank u for your service in updating us
Second, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Third, good luck everyone
If the Japan results are on the 30th I’m guessing there’s probably no hope of getting them earlier, is there? I’m going nuts waiting
I’m feeling stupid here, but where are you guys seeing that friday the 30th is for Japan takers ? The website also displays this date for the “other countries” category
