Taking the plunge and doing the N5 this year (after much procrastinating). Booking opens up in the England on the 18th (set reminders not waiting 6 months again).

Not terrified at all :fearful:

I’m not saying it to discourage you. what scares me is you’re a higher level than me and worried about it. lol

Edmonton JLPT sign ups are April 2nd, it’s a shame that it’s so expensive to fly there. It boggles my mind that they can’t do it twice a year in the US. Literally spending $1000+ just to take a personal achievement test is why I doubt next to no one from the US flies to take it.

Sign-ups opened in the Netherlands.

Even though N2 example questions were tempting, I thought I’d bomb listening, and opted for N3 instead.

Not yet open in Japan.

I was going to try the N3 on July 2024 but decided to push to December 2024. Got too much going on already. Good luck to all going for the July one.

I’m assuming the registration form is the same everywhere but man that thing almost looks like a test in itself.

If I manage to fill it out correctly I’ll go for N5. In theory N4 should also be doable at my current level. But like someone said, taking N5 just to get a feel for the format sounds good to me.

Best of luck to you all!

Was hoping to sign up for the N2 in SOAS today, but it immediately sold out :sob:
Didn’t realise it was this popular!

Thankfully there were spaces left for N2 in Leicester, otherwise I’d have been waiting until December.

Actually I wasn’t, I am not in Japan right now haha… After I finished work in the afternoon, I just wanted to update my registration info on the JLPT website, get the photo ready etc (ie to get ready for today to apply) and realised that I can just apply, so I did lol.

okay I have officially signed up for JLPT N3. Now I’m even more anxious, I’ve never been good at language tests to begin with. lol.

I’m in the same boat. I’m also bad at language tests lol. But it’s worth a try! I just signed up for round 2 of N4.

I’ma be honest, I am skipping n4 because of the whole idea that it’s focused on specific grammar structures, whereas n3 is more focused on grammar phrases which i have a better grasp on figuring out. I struggle every chance i get when it comes to certain grammar points likeしなければならない or かもしれない but phrases like かというと or に相違ない make perfect sense to me.

Just from experience, you’ll only see each of the difficult grammar structures like once or twice on the whole exam.
