Finally!
Sadly failed mine with only 3 points missing. Hm.
Somehow I messed up Listening completely…
I didn’t get to enter last December in UK, got the chance this time for July
Glad that’s over with, just need to work on a few areas… especially listening
Redoing the same in December or trying a higher level ? Good luck, almost there !
The registration period for December is already over here. Guess I’ll focus a a bit more on actual listening comprehension and go for N3 next summer.
Also passed the N2
Lol I failed miserably too and also went to language school for a month right before the exam! haha
Strangely my listening has really improved. For example right now I am watching one Japanese drama and I feel more comfortable watching it without subtitles.
That is so funny man, because I actually am!
I passed N2 too!
At the time of the test, I was worried I might have failed listening (and just in general, I felt like I was on the edge of passing)
But turns out was OK!
I’d probably order my skills as:
Reading > Listening > Vocab/Grammar
So results feel reasonable.
I passed N3 in 2016, now N2 in 2024, so maybe see you all for N1 in 2032
My listening score cost me a pass and I am still bitter lol. It was my worst listening score for two years when I just took the test without really studying. If i had received the same score I got two times in a row prior would’ve passed. I was aiming for 45-50 points this time around for listening and got 30… Was getting close to perfect scores on online practice listening tests with speed set to 1.5x. Yeah I won’t be taking the test in the summer, and I’ll actually make a fuss if I get placed directly under a fully powered-on air conditioner in a university lecture theater… Urgh. Luckily December is just around the corner and I should pass next time in theory assuming better conditions but I’m still angry hah
UPDATE: I passed the N3!
Congrats, do you mind telling a bit of your journey until passing the N3? and any tips regarding the N3 as well, i’m planning on taking the N3 on july 2025
Hey, thanks for asking this, I felt a bit inspired so I wrote about it in my blog, I hope it helps!

Just got my N4 paper certificate, feels like a long time ago now that I’m knee deep into my N3 prep
