The time is coming my friends. Just finished the last N1 grammar point officially putting me on the starting block for actually passing this thing. :joy: I also recently finished out 教育漢字 for writing, so I’m gonna put both those on the backburner and start alternating hardcore listening and reading practice. *he’s beginning to believe *

62 days remaining!! Damn time goes by fast hehe :grinning:.
I have been trying to study more vocab / kanji over the last few months which has been going well. Now, I feel I should do more reading and spend some time on practice questions.

I’m mildly annoyed that I decided not to apply for the July JLPT because I was going to have to work a half day the day before… now work are talking about moving that shift two weeks later and it’s two late to apply anywhere :sob: :sob:. Tbf, I’d probably fail N4 again, if I took it. I’ll be ready for December though!

One more month of review left! Got annoyed that I failed N4 by 9 points back in December 2024. Finished all grammar points classified as N4 in Bunpro plus some N3 that I add in my reviews if I see them in practice questions.

Also studied the usage on some of the common Onomatopoeia just in case the July 2025 test is going to put these in like the last one. (im looking at you ザアザア)

I think it’s basically a guarantee that there’ll be 1 onomatopoeia question, and probably 1 katakana question too

It’s so peaceful knowing I didn’t sign up for this JLPT :relieved:

I will do a relaxed practice exam in honor of all the July soldiers

Honestly for all of us that are writing it I feel like it’s better to just go in with the mentality that you can only do so much. No use worrying about the crunch time or the lack of study. Just walk in and if you don’t know something, randomly circle an answer and hope for the best

It’s not like you haven’t been studying, even though I know I haven’t been doing any reading practice lately (oops)

Let’s just give our brains some time to chill and hammer this thing out next month!

For all 5 JLPTs I took, there was exactly one question covering covering onomatopoeia, regardless of JLPT level. They can also appear randomly in the reading sections, but you get more context clues there.

You gravely underestimate my laziness!

Is it laziness, or burn out? :eyes:
At any rate, we all need a break every now and then

Haha, I’m just joking. I’ve only got N1 left, but I just use the test to gauge my ability. I don’t need to pass it, so there’s no pressure. I should pass N1 in July or December though, after about 6 years of studying. Quite the opposite of a speed-run lol

At this point I just apply for the N2 every time so that I have a trip to a different city and spend 4 hours so in an exam room… I really should study more lol… .

To be fair on myself, I have actually been studying this year quite a bit more (I just need to do a bit more to improve) haha and there have been lots of good life changing things happening overall  !

You’re on the journey from zero to hero, and you’ll beat N2 in the end! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Has anyone received their little personal postcard in the mail yet? (You know that one that you have to show to get into the exam)

I haven’t and was getting a bit worried, so glad to have at least one person with the same deal

For the test in Japan the last news posting (from back in April) on the JEES website indicates:

The test voucher is planned to be mailed by June 20 (Fri).

So I don’t think there is reason to panic yet. I would be more surprised if people had already received their vouchers.

No clue for outside Japan.
