JLPT July 2025

Wild JLPT appeared! :scream:

You have only 7 months to prepare to defeat it (you have 4 choices of moves for every attack).

Good luck! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

From what I have seen people brag about online, with that much time you can go from zero to N1 at least 7 times :joy:

Took a break from it this December. Hopefully i will be able to pass the N1 in July this time

I want to try and do N3 for then. Been studying for 2 years, rather unproductively until I moved to Japan a few months ago. I kinda hate studying so have been focusing on media consumption, which I have done a lot of recently, could barely manage native content before coming to Japan but now I can watch with little pausing (as long as I have the japanese subs too lol)

Hopefully all my watching dramas and reading manga/novels like Kikis delivery service, alongside practising irl at izakayas and work, will help with JLPT too lol. As for studying, hoping my routine of bunpro for grammar, wanikani for kanji, my own anki decks for vocab, and Tobira Gateway to Advanced Japanese for general comprehension testing, will carry me there.

If I really tried, I could probably aim for N2 for July, but I want to be a bit easier on myself, and get N3 first. If I achieve N3 first, then I can aim for N2

Didn’t even have to click to see who made a JLPT July topic mere hours after the December test ended

Sasuga bunnypro-san :rabbit2:

Now that the topic is here, I can say that indeed I am planning to challenge the JLPT boss N1.

Haven’t looked at any N2+ practice papers yet. If they prove too difficult, it’s time for a 7 months long training arc.

I have been studying for a little over a year now. I am aiming to jump straight into the N3 test in July. I am using a mixture of Bunpro, Wanikani, Anki, and whole bunch of immersion! Wish me luck!

I’m so excited! It will be my first JLPT and while it’s only N5 I figure it is a first step. Now the hard part is to study consistently for the next 7 months

Also hoping to take the N1 in July, but we’ll see! Recently moved to Japan and kind of scared to do it in the summer after all the horror stories I’ve read of test sites not having AC/people not being able to drink water during the test :disappointed_relieved:

I might go for N2, even if it seems like a big step, but why not try, right? At the start of the year I wouldn’t have dreamt that I could even be contemplating something like that at this point. 7 months is at least more time to prepare than 5.

I think I may attempt the N2 in July. Let’s all try our best!

No July test here - so gotta wait until next December for another crack at the N5.

I’m on the fence about doing the N3 in July or December.

Let’s see how the N2 test results go… If I fail, I might try to retake… If I somehow pass, will probably skip this one and try to finish a bunch of reading and shows I put on hold cause of the N2 tests. Maybe will consider N1 in 2026. Haha

7 months…so far but so close, my goal is to take the JLPT N3 in July 2025.

I started to learn Japanese on March 2023, took the JLPT N5 on December that same year and passed, after that I passed on the JLPT N4 on July this year, I wanted to go for the N3 this December, but it’s a much bigger gap from N4 → N3.

I’m still far from ready for the N3, I guess when the application period starts, I’ll take one or two mock tests to see if I have a chance at passing, since this is just a hobby and taking the JLPT is very expensive cause I have to travel to Sao Paulo, so, failing the test is not an option.
