Sometimes after completing a question, I try tapping on an unknown word in a sentence out of curiosity. Sometimes, I get a popup message saying “long press for more information”. Sometimes, when I long press, I actually get more info!
Notice the 3x “sometimes” above. Even immediately after it works successfully, when I return to the question, I cannot for the life of me seem to trigger it again. Am I doing something wrong? I know how to long press, FWIW.
I’m beginning to think the app is just buggy with some touch controls, especially “small” ones. On the dashboard, there is a little button to the right of “JLPT progress” that lets you cycle between grammar/vocab/combined. That button seems to only register my touches a small fraction of the time.
I’ve only been using this app for 2 days, and it’s fantastic in many ways. But the touch issues are pretty frustrating for a modern app.
I suggest just using the browser, it works just as well if not better.

I got the button bug fixed (the one in the dashboard).
Should work properly with next release.
As for long tapping, not all vocabs are long tappable at the moment, however if you long tapped on a word, it worked and you couldn’t do it later then it is a bug!
If you could PM me the vocab I will do my best to fix it.

Thank you for the quick response, Dominik! No apologies needed. I was already planning to buy a lifetime membership at the end of my 30 days, but you just made that decision even more solid. 
I’ll PM you if I ever run into a long press example that I can readily repro.
As long as I have your attention… my Android notifications also seem to not be working. In Android system, I’ve enabled all notifications for this app. In the app itself, I’ve enabled review notifications, but have not received a single notification yet (several days of waiting, and several review tasks actually became available in that time). Today I just enabled the “daily” reminders as well (I don’t actually want them, but it they work, it will be another data point for my blackbox test).
