I always thought of this as salmon roe, but I double checked on jisho and this is the definition on there:
walleye pollack roe (generally served salted and spiced with red pepper)
It’s really famous in the town where I work.

Hmm, I just though of it as “some kind of small-ish fish eggs, can’t be bothered to check which ones, since I don’t even know the difference in my own native language anyway” :slight_smile:

This is a famous food in Japan, particularly in Akita, where my best friend’s hometown is. It’s basically toasted mochi on sticks. I have a little soft toy in the shape of one pinned to the wall in my living room :joy:
