Yeap! I agree about the naming convention being confusing. I thought exactly the same when they were announced.
I think that it would prudent to actually just make A1 - C2 decks at some point, but beyond that
This is something discussed in the community, but it should even more advanced to just miscellaneous.
I’m impressed by the work you guys put into this. Well done!
I bought the lifetime membership only a little ago after already being very happy with the Bunpro team’s service. Thanks so much for adding in more N1 material, currently going through your N2 grammar so everything’s come in perfect timing!
Is this only accessible via /decks
?
Hi!
I’m just curious if there are plans for a 擬態語/擬音語 deck. This could be linked to images or videos to try to convey in the most suitable manner the nuance each word has, like I’ve been trying to do in the Shiritori topic, with the contribution of @TehFlashBang .
ドキドキとワクワクとしながら待っているんだよ。
I second this. Most of the time I look for Japanese Onomatopoeias, I’ll find a website that will give maybe 20-30 examples, and then tell me to read manga to learn more.
For formal speech, Onomatopoeic words aren’t super important, but like 相槌、they really liven up casual conversation and make things fun. Having a deck dedicated to them so people can pick some up would be super cool to see.
Yeah, really hope there could be a good way to distinguish between them all.
I have seen so many of these onomatopoeia words and get them all confused and basically just guess every time - I’m probably getting worse at knowing which one is which every time I encounter one in the SRS system
Sweet link! I knew that website had to have some use or another!
Are we still getting decks for the A lists?
A1 Deck | Bunpro
A2 Deck | Bunpro
A3 Deck | Bunpro
A4 Deck | Bunpro
A5 Deck | Bunpro
A6 Deck | Bunpro
A7 Deck | Bunpro
A8 Deck | Bunpro
A9 Deck | Bunpro
A10 Deck | Bunpro
A11 Deck | Bunpro
A12 Deck | Bunpro
A13 Deck | Bunpro
A14 Deck | Bunpro
A15 Deck | Bunpro
A16 Deck | Bunpro
A17 Deck | Bunpro
A18 Deck | Bunpro
A19 Deck | Bunpro
A20 Deck | Bunpro
They all exist and you can use them but they aren’t formalized with deck art etc.
It’s great to be able to access the decks!
I’m wondering if there was any particular way of deciding what went in each “A” deck, or was it effectively random?
For example, it seems when looking through that katakana words can appear in any of the decks, but they’re usually in the earlier units
The order is alphabetical which is why those would appear at the start.
There also isn’t any logic behind what is in A1 versus A20, they are just words. That being said, we started from A1 for making sentences so the lower decks have sentences while higher decks wouldn’t yet.
Since A1 and A2 already have example sentences, would it be possible to enable Reading mode for Review Types? Currently, only Translate is selectable even though this deck has had example sentences for about a year now. Thank you
Noticed this, too, and would also love to get the reading mode for all vocab that already got example sentences.
These new decks look awesome, but for their SRS purpose it might feel weird to keep advancing over the vocab list alphabetically. It would be great if there was a way to sort them by each word frequency metrics, so that we can study first the most useful stuff.
Great work nevertheless!
If you go inside the Deck, then press the Cogwheel in the top right, you’ll find the Deck Settings area which houses the ‘Sorting Order’ feature shown in this screenshot. Should have what you’re looking for!
My bad for not noticing it. You guys are always one step ahead! Thanks
+1 to this!
It’d be great to have this to help supplement words I pick up in everyday life.
