さ vs ところ A very specific question

Im part of an English Journaling Group and I will often take their questions and translate them into Japanese and then send that to a different group for journaling in Japanese.

Now, the other day, the English question was “Tell me your favorite creature and describe how cute it is.”

Which I initially translated as “自分の一番好きな生物を教えて、可愛いさを話してください。”

After quickly checking in with a native speaker he suggested using 可愛いところ instead of 可愛いさ.

While he said either or would be ok, using ところ felt more “right”. I find it difficult to feel the difference between these two. Very curious to know what the general populace or those more well versed think. And if you want to see my answer you can check here

可愛さ generally refers to the “cuteness” of something, nominalizing the adjective. So, in this sentence, it has a direct translation of “tell me about its cuteness” which ultimately makes sense but comes off a bit vague in this scenario. 可愛いところ has more of a feel of “What part of / what about (insert favorite creature) do you think is cute?” so it’s a bit more natural-sounding and easier to understand in this case.
