"Content search" feature got worsen

Today, while studying Japanese, I encountered the word せんたく, which I was shown to mean “choice.” I was confused because I thought it meant “laundry” instead. To clarify, I went to the “content search” feature and entered “sentaku,” as I typically do when looking for content. However, I got an error message stating, “Please enter more than one non-Japanese character.” After several attempts, I realized that I can no longer use romaji for content searches. Unfortunately, I do not have a Japanese keyboard installed on my laptop, which is causing some challenges. I am unsure if this change is intentional or a bug, but it has certainly created some issues.

This same issue is already being discussed in this thread.

But I don’t think anyone has posted about it in the actual bug report thread. So maybe try posting there too, to see what the staff has to say about it.

This was indeed a bug I introduced yesterday…

Sorry for the inconvenience! I have fixed it.
Feel free to hit me over the head repeatedly with a piko hammer. :confounded:

Not needed, you are still responsible for my fav, japanese learning app.

Maybe not ideal for Bunpro but just genuinely try to help, a lot of cases you will find this app called 10ten reader (google chrome extension) very time-saving for quickly check out what meanings a word can have or the dictionary form of a verb, for example i hover above せんたく and it shows below, maybe worth a try. You can use it together with Bunpro which I did!
