Dashboard 2.0 Beta

Interesting bug:

I had hourly incoming review breakdown and 1 review with the next 24h. I did the review and now I’m unable to switch to the daily breakdown.

Post Dashboard 2.0 Beta Release Fixes #1

Fixes

  • Improved appearance of initial load by removing janky-loading page components
    • Also added skeleton loading for the community posts
  • Reverse order of JLPT progress-bar colors to match the old system
  • Increase heights of graphs on mobile
    • Kicks in if your screen width is beneath 640px
    • From 167px high to 260px
    • @s_s
  • Increase hover radius for Activity dots
    • Now even if you are not perfectly hovering over the dots, it will show you the dot details

More fixes on their way!

BunPro-tachi does it again! Great work, everyone involved! Thank you! :+1:

[P.S. I was debating whether to play with -tachi or -kumi/gumi, but I’m less familiar with the latter. Is X-kumi/gumi closer in meaning to “The X team”? Would it use rendaku or no? Does X-tachi come close to “X team”, or is it more like a generic plural, “Xs”? … ]

It looks great, the only problem I have with it is that the beginner progress bars on JLPT progress doesn’t look that good when on dark mode + red styling… lol

I would either probably either change the beginner colours to be a bit brighter like with the blue accent colours (easier and quicker) or just add a border/another box around the progress bars that’s lighter in colour (But you’d have to do that for the rest of the stylings on the site if you wanted to be consistent, and you already updated it to look more slick soo… probably the first suggestion hahaha)

Cool, in terms of UI, maybe we can increase the height of nav bar on initial load, the initial navbar is bit small vertically, so by the time contents within navbar load, page has loaded with skeletons, and there is a content shift. It’s not a big thing, but just a suggestion from my end :joy:

Nvm. It’s wasn’t due to navbar but the study buttons.

I like it, but I’d really love to have a way to get back the non cumulative view  As others have stated, I do my reviews daily. Alternatively, a way to represent the non cumulative amounts on the same bar (since they will by nature be less than or equal to the other bars, a differently shaded section could do it).

There is a color contrast update coming!

Yeah I need to make sure the text in the Learn button won’t break onto a new line

A minor translation bug
Badge is translated as バッジ in the profile page and old dashboard, but in the beta one it’s バッチ

I currently don’t have time / headspace for studying japanese but every now and again I log in here and I just wanted to say how utterly impressed I am by the development of Bunpro over the years.

Hey !

Yes, maybe separate the bar graph, or better, add a toggle to choose between voc and grammar ! The problem is vocabulary will represent at least 80% of the review, so mix the two of them just erase the grammar side

Hey! You can actually already do this by clicking the rectangles next to Vocab / Grammar in the Legend!

Whoaw, I’m so dumb, I didn’t even think about it

Thank a lot ! That’s perfect like that

It’s a bit too subtle… will add a different cursor when you hover on it!
Why this needs an 8-minute long video telling you how to do it, I don’t know… :man_facepalming:

Just to record that the automatic updates don’t seem to happen every 60 seconds. Here I waited until 2 minutes past the hour and, even after wiggling the cursor around etc (I believe that is the technical term), I ended up refreshing the old school way:

But it’s ok like that don’t worry !

However, I find a little mistake in the dashboard 2.0 :

The total amount of future review didn’t change when we click on grammar or vocab !

But for the rest, it’s look perfect !

I didn’t even realise we could do that :sob:

I like the changes to the activity graph and forecast graph!

Just noticed that the title of the “settings” part could do with being changed, e.g.:
