I was on vacation for a bit so I just saw this update to the dashboard and… I LOVE IT

Here’s some very minor feedback that you can choose to completely ignore cause it’s really not a big deal at all lol

“Your Progress” pop-up module:

  1. The “Your Progress” title seems like its really big to me… maybe it’s just me? Lol
  2. It would be cool if the table headers stayed sticky/fixed (Referring to the column headers “Item”, “Accuracy” and “Ghost” that’s at the top, as well as the options above it)
  3. The screen is flashing white for me the first time I open the pop-up (I’m in dark mode using firefox) → To be fair, this happens when I refresh the page in general so it’s not limited to just the pop-up
  4. The “See More” button at the bottom; the ellipsis aren’t vertically centered
  5. When the pop-up opens, the scroll bar on the main dashboard disappears. This isnt necessary a bad thing but the dashboard behind the pop-up then stretches a little to compensate for the sudden lack of scrollbar, so it feels a little weird. (Does this make sense?)

Dashboard:

  1. Badges used to be clickable
  2. There used to be a link to navigate to profile (unless the profile is going away eventually?) (I expected my username to be clickable)
Screenshots that probably aren't useful

Thank you yet again! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

When I look at “Ghost” on the dashboard, I think of “number of ghosts slain” rather than the current number of “ghosts” that exist (or half-exist :ghost:) Maybe it’s just me :joy:
Actually, I think it would be useful to have both stats on there - I would really like to know the “number of ghosts slain”.

Post Dashboard 2.0 Beta Release Fixes #2

Features

Forecast Graph

  • Give users the option to choose between Total Reviews (cumulative) or New Only (individual)
  • Settings for changing how to display the graph data is now inside a settings modal
  • The reviews due now will also be added when calculating the Total Reviews values
  • Instead of clicking on the Legend to show/hide Vocab/Grammar, this is now done within the modal
  • All changes to settings in this modal will be saved between sessions

Activity Graph

  • Split the month of activity into 2 fortnights – users can go to the previous fortnight using the arrow button, much like with the Forecast graph
    • This is to reduce the amount of items on the X-axis
  • Add a settings modal to Activity graph
    • Instead of clicking on the Legend to show/hide Vocab/Grammar, this is now done within the modal

Fixes

  • Performance improvements for the SRS Progress popout
  • Fixed SRS Progress level text breaking the grid if not JLPT on Desktop (e.g. just N3 but instead 関西弁 etc.)
  • Change the mouse to a pointer when hovering over the graph Legends so that users know they are clickable

To-do

  • Fix spinner showing inside of SRS Progress popout when loading more points when the result is already cached

Thank you again for all your great efforts! お疲れ様でした!

In relation to this, is this the way it should look!?

This after I did my reviews:

EDIT 1 (07/07): @veritas_nz You must have done magic, it works now!

もう一度お疲れ様でした!

EDIT 2 (08/07): I’m afraid it happened again. Actually, this has been happening for some days though I only reported it yesterday. I can’t find a pattern to it.

Well, I just saw the big improvement you’ve done for the stats and I really thank you for that ! It’s absolutely perfect like that !

Is this issue still randomly appearing/disappearing?
If so I’ll send you a DM and we can try to trouble shoot it together

Yes, that’s what it looks to me anyway!
It is working fine now but it might go back to the screen with the message this afternoon.

Fixes

  • Added links to /user/profile/badges from the Recent Badges items
  • Fix spinner showing inside of SRS Progress popout when only revalidating existing data, and not loading more points
  • Fix issue where Forecast graph would say there were no upcoming reviews if there was no Grammar (but there was Vocab)

Hi the new dashboard is super stylish i just have 1 feature request so far:

When you are viewing the review forecast from new only perspective, would it be possible for when you hover over a certain hour, in addition to showing the numbers of reviews you have for that hour, it would also show the total number rolling reviews up until that point. In my mind, it would look something like the anki screenshot attached.

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback :relaxed:
I’ll have a look and see what I can do!

@veritas_nz

The activity forecast is starting to show stats which seem a bit off to me.

For example, today is 18JUL23 and I haven’t done any grammar reviews yet, but the graph is saying I’ve done 97 today - I’m certain I only did around 40 yesterday so not sure where it is getting that number from.

Also when going to the previous page last months entries are now blank when I did do reviews on them:

Last week I went into vacation mode for around half a day overnight to prevent reviews building up - that may be unrelated or could have messed up the timings, not sure how it could to this extent though.

A possible cause for the blank days in the past is that whilst the graph indicates the dates are for last month, the underlying query is actually taking values for this month which are in the future and therefore always at zero.

The old dashboard for comparison:

Good day!

I noticed the exact same thing as @ThePurpleOrange reports, both (1) the mismatch between the data presented and the actual activity and (2) the fact that last months entries are set to zero whilst everything works fine in the old dashboard.

@Pablunpro

Thank god this is still in Beta!
Cheers for the find – will take a look :+1:

After trying the new dashboard for a day or so I find that I mostly like it (although honestly I was fine with the previous one too). One thing that does annoy me is having to go through the modal menu to switch between hourly and daily review stats. Before I just had to click a button.

I find that I use both stats for different things: the hourly stats are useful to schedule my reviews for the day while the daily stats are useful to decide if I want to learn new items. If I see that I’m going to have a lot of reviews in the next few days I won’t want to add too many new items, if I see that it’s going to be quiet I can probably add more grammar than usual.

Having to go in a separate menu for that is a bit annoying, and it’s made worse because the modal hides most of the graph while open so I have to open the menu → change the setting → close the menu → check the graph → reopen the menu → change the setting back → close the menu.

No worries! Just and extra bit of info - now that I’ve done reviews it has changed today’s count to the correct amount:

Hello. One thing from the old dashboard I would like to be brought back (if possible) would be the ability to see what percentage of your beginner/adept/ghost/etc reviews are in what SRS category. for example, on the old dashboard, when you click on ghosts, you see the following:

so I know that about half of my ghost reviews are srs 4, and about 1/4 are srs 1.
However, when you click on ghosts in the new dashboard, you are shown the following.
while it would be possible to count up what ghosts are in which srs, i think it would be more convenient to see the breakdown. although if this was removed or is unable/unwanted to be implimented for some reason i understand. thanks

The notification bell icon is not shown on iPad in portrait mode, despite there being plenty of space to include it.

Same here: today’s count is correct. I’ll see how it evolves during the day, as I still have reviews for the next hours. Last months entries still set to zero, though!

It’s because when you load that window, you don’t load all items at the same time.
As far as I recall it only loads ~200 items at a time. This is so you’re not sitting waiting on the (already slow) database queries for too long.
So basically, we can’t show these bars if we haven’t got all the data yet.

So that’s the reason for it. But I get the feeling that difference in speed between a 200 vs 900 item DB query might not be thaaaaaat much slower as to warrant us having to have a “Load More” system that then stops us reintroducing the SRS bars…

Will see how it gets on.
The old SRS Progress popout didn’t work well and felt broken because it didn’t have any loading-spinners or ways to show the state of loading.
