Feedback - Bug Reports

When I finish lessons and get the “good job” modal with the continue/summary buttons, if I press the left arrow key, it (probably) attempts to return to the previous screen from the lesson pages and I end up at the URL “https://www.bunpro.jp/undefined”, maybe because it’s expecting some queue to be populated with lesson items to traverse backwards into with a URL fragment that it can construct an address from, but after finishing the initial lesson questions, it’s been cleared and is no longer populated.

System: Windows 10, Opera 82 (Chromium)

To reproduce:

  1. Do a lesson batch.
  2. Answer all the initial questions.
  3. Receive the modal:
  4. At the modal dialog, instead of pressing enter (i.e., continuing) or clicking a button, press the left arrow key.

Result: Sent to a non-existent URL. Can just go back a couple of times in browser or click any navigation to get back to the dashboard.

Expected result: Go to some summary screen of lessons just cleared, or back to the dashboard.

The same thing happens before starting the quiz. If I hit left on the keyboard, it still controls the lessons behind it, and I can scroll around and defeat the mask behind the modal dialog (see the bottom text with full brightness):

The site keeps freezing on me when I get an answer correct. It can freeze for each question up to 10 seconds. Has anybody else experienced this? Any solutions?

I can’t sync the new N4 vocab with wanikani after syncing the N5 vocab.

I think someone a week or two ago brought this up, but no one was really able to reproduce it. Only thing I’d suggest is just to keep the console open during reviews and if a freeze happens (which sounds likely) then take a screenshot of any errors and post it here.

Thanks Born2PeePee. I opened the console and this turned up? I don’t know if it’s useful:

In the N5 Vocab deck, そうですね (That’s so, isn’t it) isn’t accepted as correct. I’m unable to pass the card for whatever reason ^^

I’m sorry if it doesn’t count as a bug (I know grammar points have report buttons but vocab doesn’t seem to have it so…) but this N5 vocab doesn’t have an English translation, it just repeats the Japanese phrase. シャワーを浴びる | Japanese Grammar SRS

“Add to Reviews” button works oddly. If I press it, the reviews counter doesn’t get bumped up. So now I have 0 reviews, but actually one. If I refresh page, nothing changes, it’s still 0.

When i review grammar, the SRS level in the top right corner displays the current level, and changes to the next one if the answer is right.

When I’m reviewing vocab, it doesn’t seem to be the case : it always displays SRS0 and doesn’t change to SRS1 when my answer is right.

I also noticed than when i make a mistake, the SRS counter seems to work again (went from 0 to 3 when i made a typo on one of the vocab cards)

Both points are about one of the sentences for this grammar point.

Its quite hard to read when the furigana and the hint are too close together, this happens with a few other sentences and I think it would be nicer if there was a bit more of a gap between them.

For the answer I dont see how you would get this right first time unless you knew the word already, this might just be me not understanding something else though.

Yeah looks like some wonky coding for the furigana. What tripped you up exactly about the answer もちなおした? Was it converting もつ to もち? If that’s the case, the explanation says to convert the verb into ます form. I remember tripping this up a lot too when I first added it, I kept forgetting to change the ending. I do think adding ‘fix’ to the english definition alongside ‘to do over, to redo’ would probably be beneficial if the prompts specifically use fix. I think I already knew 直す beforehand so my experience may be skewed, usually if a point has kanji involved I’ll paste the explanation from jisho into the notes box for future reference.

I noticed this as well. I think maybe the comma is screwing it up as it will accept ‘isn’t it’ by itself. :+1:t2:

I dont think this is the correct grammar point info
And isnt つつも also appropiate in this case anyway?

@Jake
hi, recently about a week (or 2 maybe), i experience a bug that turn my correct answer into a ghost. It happened 4 times (4 review) already, which i can confirm it to you that definitely i got it all answered correctly.

the picture above is happening just now whereas the last review of it is last night, and it really annoys me. Hope you noticed it. Thanks

edit: i’ve reported the same problem before in this post before Update: 2/17 - Decks & Vocab Beta - #87 by stillwill but seems haven’t been fixed

Hi, I’m experiencing a reoccuring bug during cram session where I select the two cram lessons shown in the screenshots and will get a forever loading screen (on safari Version 15.0 (16612.1.29.41.4, 16612)).
If I try adding those points to larger cram session (i.e. add more grammar points) all the other grammar points will occasionally show up while those two won’t.
(I’ve had similar experiences in the past on Chrome but sadly no console log)

I added screenshots of the console output.

Im also getting a forever loading screen when trying to cram N4 Grammer i can do N5 just fine but N4 no matter how many times I try it just loads forever

I am having several issues on the grammar screen.

  1. If I select grammar and then press “Mark as Known”, nothing happens.
  2. If I select grammar points and then press “add to review”, these are not added but instead I get negative reviews. Which leads to an " あらま! INTERNAL ERROR: (。┰ω┰。)" if I try to go to reviews after.

Hi,
My new issue is that some reviews come twice in a session, even if I answer correctly. On the second time, the app does not seem to process them totally (the input text remains black)
Another issue, probably linked, is that my experience score is no longer incremented, for any review.

Hi, I am not sure, as the question field is totally blank. Most probably with the button from the lesson itself. I’ve been doing this since I finished Genki I.

Looks like the Grammar search is still a little buggy.
There are different results for tote and とて:
