Can confirm that it seems like I also have some 28 words that became Mastered instead of Seasoned 1 despite not being set to Mark as Mastered in my settings. They all have a “first study date” of 22/09/2024 and have never been reviewed.
It seems like the daily sync is marking them as mastered for some reason, because the manual sync I did after my previous post did properly mark things as Seasoned 1 and give me extra reviews after the sync.
@Marifly I believe this is due to those words being already burned in Wanikani. The current import brings in your Wanikani data and if if you are still learning it, puts it at seasoned 1 but if you have already burned it then it marks it mastered. Are you wanting to bring already burned stuff into Bunpro and do extra practice on those words?
In my case some of them might be burned, but if so then not nearly all.
行列 for example, which has been auto-mastered on Bunpro, is Enlightened on WK. Same with 重ねる or 疑う…
In fact, I checked a good dozen of them (all the ones on the screenshot above) and all are Enlightened on WK. Perhaps the auto-sync mistakenly thinks enlightened is burned?
With that said I would personally like burned items to be seasoned 1 either way just for extra exposure, but I understand the logic of Burned → Mastered and it’s fine if it stays that way. But there’s def an issue with non-burned words ending up mastered.

Yes, I would love that. I really like to use Bunpro’s example sentences and see the vocab I’m learning in context.
Found the issue. We were lumping SRS 8 and 9 into Mastered. Thank you for helping to point that out. The patch should be out with the next release.
We are also looking into an option to import for practice once something gets to SRS 5 on WK.

When I go to the feedback page (/user/feedback/[…]) and click on “Reply” the Button disappears (style changes to “display: none”) but nothing else happens. There’s no text box. I tested it on Chromium and Firefox. Cheers!

I currently have 306 review to do (displayed on the dashboard page), but when I am in the review page, it is displayed 211 remaining questions.
Seems to be something wrong here…

Hi! Sometimes when I do cram reviews (cloze-type in style) and type-in the final answer (usually mistake clean-up), it does not shutdown the cram and instead shows me some question I already answered (not the last one) correctly. When I input it once more, it says that there is a connection error and suggests to submit an answer again or to reload the page. Submitting once again does nothing and reloading the page finishes the cram. A minor bug, but still a bit annoying.
Hi. I have a bug about WK vocab sync.
I previously synced my vocab in as master, but didn’t do any vocab in bunpro. I stopped using the service a few months ago.
Now I want to use bunpro for vocab (resubscribed yesterda), I want a full vocab sync with wanikani.
However, the sync doesn’t work. I have around 1900 words on WK, but bunpro only marked ~1200 as master originally. I tried to reset and reimport, but then it only marked ~190. I reset my bunpro vocab again, resynced with wanikani, and now it will only sync 80 words!
Any help appreciated. The vocab sync / wanikani integration is the main reason I’m using bunpro now.

Max limit you can do all at once across the 3 Review types (Regular, Ghost, Self) is 200.
So you’re probs seeing 200 Regular Reviews and 11 Ghosts if I were to guess.

I am also having the same syncing issue. I tried putting in my api token again, and it’s only showing 222 master vocab words. I have over 2500 burned vocab on Wanikani. Hopefully this issue gets fixed soon, thanks.
I think there’s an edge case with the display of the strikethrough in the structure section when the section reaches a certain width. (Maybe when the strikethrough gets split over multiple lines?)
For example in the なくて (Sequence) lesson, the strikethrough on ない for the な adjective structure disappears when the window size is at a certain width.
I observed this when setting up the browser to take up half of my screen which is exactly when the strikethrough disappears, and I was confused as the examples didn’t match what I was seeing in the structure section.

Just for my reference, are you able to give me the Cram Session ID? This will be in the URL bar. E.g. if the URL is bunpro.jp/cram/session/12345, the ID is 12345.
I was able to replicate it with a cram session ID 340668.
I had this same “issue”. It turns out that new words won’t be imported if you have “Mark as Mastered” on. Disable that, then try importing your words. You should get all your words as either Seasoned 1 or Mastered (though it may take a few minutes). I think checking the “Mark as mastered” button after that is supposed to move all the Seasoned 1 words to Mastered, but it doesn’t seem to be working for me, and I have a lot of words stuck as Seasoned 1.

Sorry for the late update. I was waiting to provide you with an example but I haven’t seen one since you posted. I’m not sure if I got them all myself or whatever underlying bug was remedied on your end.
For me the issue is not even partially solved by doing this. When I import without mark as mastered on, it still only imports 134 vocab - of which 4 are “seasoned” and the rest still “mastered”.
I don’t really have an example in particular, since I’m level 18 on WK and only 134 vocab items have synced over - the example is pretty much all the vocab!. It doesn’t seem to be only items of a certain level.
The items that have synced over are all low-level ones (eg 友人), nothing recently learnt. The vocab is also from all sorts of decks in bunpro (N5/4/3/Genki etc) so I don’t think the issue is only sycning certain decks’ vocab.
