So far, I think it seems to happen more often with self-study grammar sentences and with vocab, but it’s happening so often that it’s hard to see a pattern
A few of the vocab ones from so far today:
I’m in a similar boat. I’ve my N4 Badge, not my N5 one, despite completing the both the N5 Grammar and Vocab Decks. I’ve completed N4 Grammar, not N4 Vocab Deck. I genuinely don’t it.
@Jake @veritas_nz ,
I am still having reviews disappear:
I have stopped creating decks and it is still happening, so I don’t think it is that, but I guess it could if the timing was just weird. The only thing that seems like it could be causing it is my WaniKani sync…
I just still can’t seem to replicate this!! Sorry!!
Have tried multiple combos on MacOS Firefox
I am guessing that it is because we track a rough estimate of your progress on each Deck behind the scenes, then when you actually visit the Deck, it does the full real calculation.
Nothing is being lost, it seems to just be artificially displaying a higher number until it does the check.
That’s all I can think of for now.
Nothing to worry about!
EDIT: Also worth noting you can hard refresh (regenerate? ) the progress of a Deck using this button:
Hi, are you able to send me a screenshot of the Sync With Wanikani popup window?
Also what happens when you click on import once now, does it l change to ‘Your WK data is being imported’?
I’m the same. Completed N1 a couple of weeks ago and haven’t received the badge.
Added!
Thanks for looking into it, I am also running firefox on my Mac.
Yeah, it is when I click that hard refresh button on the decks page that the number changes and goes down. And words are definitely getting removed from my reviews. I have manually gone through a lot of the decks and had to re add words, i.e. choose ‘Add To Reviews’, and when I add a word I had before it remembers and restores whatever SRS level I had before and immediately adds itself to be reviewed. That is part of how I know whether I had the words on my review list before…
Let me know if you want me to find some words that I already know, give you a list, and then re add them so you can see the change. I did that with 思う for Jake, but I don’t know if he saw a difference.
Actually, here are three words that I think have been affected:
They are currently ‘unlearned’ but let me know and I can ‘Add To Reviews’ them.
I’m not 100% sure if this is a bug or not (or even considered a bug if it isnt my fault, more like error in the answers).
Ive had a few of these, where if I use the kanji in my answer, it gets marked wrong despite it looking right. Most recent example here.
Its happened at least one other time I have a screenshot of.
Oh interesting! Clicking the import again seems to have done something significant. It’s now saying the data is being imported, and it’s remaining there, so I’m guessing it’s doing a bunch of background work. This didn’t happen the first time.
I’ll report back if it’s still a problem when it says it finishes syncing.
Thanks for the help.
[edit] Yep that did the trick!
Hmm, so I decided to not work on the N5 vocab deck in BunPro for right now. I’ve removed the deck from the queue, but now all the wanikani vocab are still in the review queue. Is there a way to exclude them as well when I’m not working on vocab? In the tour, it mentioned you can turn off displaying vocab, but now I can’t seem to do that?
Thanks for any help that may be offered! Still trying to get a hang of BunPro…
Do you mean to exclude them from all your reviews, or just during certain sessions?
You can reset all your Wani vocab so it doesn’t show up ever, or any vocab through settings>reset
Or you can split reviews so you can focus on grammar and/or vocab individually during reviews. They’ll still pile up if you don’t do them, but they’ll be there when you want to continue working on them
Using a Japanese IME to directly add Kanji answers is not supported.
Please type the answers using romaji on an English keyboard. 🙇♂️
Not sure if I am the only one facing this, but I have noticed that while doing the reviews on a browser, the sentence audio sometimes gets stuck and can’t be played within that particular session. It generally happens with only one review sentence in any given session (it can be any of the sentences in the review queue), but it happens almost every day. After I submit the answer and proceed further, the audio of the subsequent review sentences in that session can be played normally. I use Chrome (updated to latest version) on a Windows PC.
I’ve recently noticed I sometimes get asked the same question twice, possibly on the same session (I am pretty sure that happened) but absolutely when I left a session and started another right after.
It just happened to me for 4 different grammar point if you have a log of my sessions to check. (jan10th around 10:20AM Paris time). I think these 4 were all answered as known.
The second session was just these 4 questions that somehow seem to have been reseted to not answered while the rest of the session was just fine.
Is this during Reviews or Cram?
Can you please temporarily disable any extensions and try and replicate this?
I can’t find any automatic error reports from your account either.
Damn I really wish I had a Windows PC to test on too at times like these…
Hi there!
You don’t have any Ghosts so it can’t be that…
Also checked for error logs from you. Only 1 time out in the last week.
A quick sanity check – they’re not items that you got wrong, then had to wrap up later right?
Do they show up as being done twice in the Summary?
