Feedback - Bug Reports

Do you mean to exclude them from all your reviews, or just during certain sessions?

You can reset all your Wani vocab so it doesn’t show up ever, or any vocab through settings>reset

Or you can split reviews so you can focus on grammar and/or vocab individually during reviews. They’ll still pile up if you don’t do them, but they’ll be there when you want to continue working on them

Using a Japanese IME to directly add Kanji answers is not supported.
Please type the answers using romaji on an English keyboard. 🙇‍♂️

Not sure if I am the only one facing this, but I have noticed that while doing the reviews on a browser, the sentence audio sometimes gets stuck and can’t be played within that particular session. It generally happens with only one review sentence in any given session (it can be any of the sentences in the review queue), but it happens almost every day. After I submit the answer and proceed further, the audio of the subsequent review sentences in that session can be played normally. I use Chrome (updated to latest version) on a Windows PC.

I’ve recently noticed I sometimes get asked the same question twice, possibly on the same session (I am pretty sure that happened) but absolutely when I left a session and started another right after.

It just happened to me for 4 different grammar point if you have a log of my sessions to check. (jan10th around 10:20AM Paris time). I think these 4 were all answered as known.
The second session was just these 4 questions that somehow seem to have been reseted to not answered while the rest of the session was just fine.

Is this during Reviews or Cram?
Can you please temporarily disable any extensions and try and replicate this?
I can’t find any automatic error reports from your account either.

Damn I really wish I had a Windows PC to test on too at times like these…

Hi there!

You don’t have any Ghosts so it can’t be that…
Also checked for error logs from you. Only 1 time out in the last week.

A quick sanity check – they’re not items that you got wrong, then had to wrap up later right?

Do they show up as being done twice in the Summary?

During regular reviews. Yeah, I have several extensions, though only a few are enabled currently. Will try that and let you know if/when it happens again. Will try on other browsers too to see if it’s a Chrome only issue. Thanks.

Hi !
I’ve noticed that if I add a word to my reviews by clicking it in an exemple sentence, it won’t follow the rules of the deck it belongs to.

Let’s say my N5 vocab SRS base level is set to 4. If I add 鳥 from “巣に鳥がいる”, it will start from level zero, although it belongs to the N5 deck.

I know a word isn’t attached to only one deck, but it might be useful to prioritize and follow the rules according to the N-Level anyway.
In other words, to have it applied considering N-Level instead of per deck.

Hopefully I’m clear enough.

Is Bunpro down right now? Doesn’t seem to load.
If so, I’m happy to stand in as a replacement rabbit service, admittedly with slightly reduced functionality :rabbit2:

Doesn’t look like it.
No downtime over that period either.
If anyone else is having issues please let us know.

I get the frustrations.
Due to how slow searching through each Deck is, we indeed can’t do it on a per Deck basis.

Would a global fallback setting solve this issue for you?

Would you explain a little more what you mean by “global fallback” ? I’m not a native English speaker and in this case, I absolutely do not understand your suggestion. DeepL didn’t help either.

Not related but  :

Especially the ability to display translation automatically after answering.

“Reviews done per day” and the graph below are broken for 2 months now, is it only me, or are they not functioning at all?

This happened to me yesterday, I thought it was still in development for the longest time. I refreshed the page and it fixed it

I don’t know if it’s a bug but for a few days it’s been like that – the Review button in the popup showing after learning a new batch of words is no longer selected/on focus by default what means I can’t just press enter to move on, I have to click the button with mouse what is a slight inconvenience, especially considering that every other basic navigation in learning/review mode can be done keyboard-only.

This fix is coming up in the next update!
I noticed this too.

Thanks for the report.

In the Android app, when reviewing vocabulary in flashcard mode, the audio for the vocab doesn’t play after revealing the answer, as it does when doing the reviews in the website… I’m not sure if it’s a bug or some missing functionality, but anyway I’d love having them in the app!

Wanikani sync for furigana seems to have stopped working.

Example

I have already burned the word in wanikani

Browser: Kiwi Browser 124.0.6327.4
There is an error in the browser console. Not sure if that helps.

Vacation mode is bugged again. Took a 2 month vacation due to a baby, put on vacation mode, came back to over 200 grammar reviews and 400 vocab reviews. I don’t recall how many reviews I had before turning on vacation mode, but I know it wasn’t That many. Think I activated on mobile and deactivated on windows.

I do not know if someone on the other end fixed it, or if the vacation disable was delayed, but I’m back down to a managable amount of reviews. Thanks!

How long between when you de-activated and when it fixed itself?
Might not have been manual intervention, but maybe a delayed automatic service?
