Feedback - Bug Reports

I’ve found a great big bug for you :bug:

I suspected this might be the case, but now I have the proof!

When you are doing reviews and you hit the next hour, if you are during the wrap-up stage, you get a load of new items added to your reviews, and then every correct answer you give iterates the number of items left to be wrapped up down by 1, regardless of whether you’re actually wrapping them up from the previous hour or they are genuinely new reviews from the new hour.

e.g. I hit the hour during a wrap-up, then get the 1 “wrap-up” review correct, then answer 1 genuine review correctly and get this:

image

Then I answer another review correctly and get this:

image

etc.

Incidentally, the review session always seems to auto-terminate when you get to “-10 to go”.

Does it make sense?
I can have another go at explaining if it doesn’t.

Hm, SRS strictness settings don’t seem to be saving properly on iOS. I’ve tried a few times to set it to half from the default -1, but every time I check later it’s back to default.

I have run into a continued error with the vocab review for 林檎
the first screenshot is of the review and the second one of the error message when trying to submit the answer. I have manually pushed it to the next SRS level for now and the rest of my reviews seem fine.

I’m not sure if this is a bug of Bunpro or Disqus, but if I try to link to this page using “insert hyperlink” button, the link breaks due to unencoded spaces in the URL: [test link](https://bunpro.jp/grammar_points/-よう--う-まい - が-と).

That’s when copying the link to clipboard in Firefox using Bunpro’s button.

When just copying page URL in Firefox, spaces get %encoded along with Japanese letters, and then it works fine.

I’d maybe change URLs of any pages with spaces to not have spaces?
Or alternatively change the button to %encode URL, but non-encoded URLs are prettier.

I am once again asking that the ability to enable vacation mode with an inactive subscription be reenabled. (This used to be possible, but it changed at some point).

It does not seem fair to break people’s streaks over a pause in payment. Especially while allowing vacation mode as a voluntary toggle, which seems to go even more so against the spirit of streaks. If you’re allowing people to skip days of their own choosing, allowing them to do so because of (potentially involuntary) issues of payment seems like an obvious feature.

My review forecast was showing that it’s 11pm even though it’s 9am where I am, and 10am in my selected time zone of Japan. When the hour changed it fixed itself. Low priority

I’m not sure if you are aware, but you are able to manually adjust your streak to whatever it was before if you do feel like it was broken for unfair reasons. This option is under the reset page in profile settings.

Really, now! WOW. I was unaware. That seems even more cheaty/against the spirit of streaks, but streaks are kind of a goofy mechanic anyways that all too frequently encourages doing the simplest/laziest/most bare-minimum review rather than actual learning. (I’m guilty of this myself sometimes when I’m busy or feeling uninspired). So I guess it makes since they allow this!

Thanks, I’ll keep this in mind if I ever do need to pause payment. (I managed to pay yesterday, so no need for this yet!)

Yeah streaks are quite a personal thing in my opinion. I never really care about them since I hate studying on weekends, but to someone who cares about them it’s probably better to allow for some flexibility to deal with it in case life happens. Even the bird has streak extensions from what I can tell. I think the BP team got tired of people asking them to resurrect their streaks or making posts detailing how disappointed they were that they lost their streak for whatever reason.

I did a ticket but I saw someone else posted on here with a similar issue and got it resolved too: I noticed I’ve been double charged for the past 3 months. I think it started when I had tried to log in to study one day and it said my subscription was inactive, so I subscribed again and paid, but it seems my subscription was indeed already active and it must have been a bug or something.

Anyway if that could be sorted it would be great thanks!

It was working for me on Chrome, but I’ve removed the spaces from that Grammar’s slug just in case.

Yeah I need to fix this…
If your device’s timezone and your Bunpro timezone don’t match, it will be buggy.

I thought I got this one…
I guess not

Thanks for the report!
Will take another crack at it when it’s not Monday :+1:

On Android Firefox I noticed that when I do lessons and move to reviews, I now have to scroll the sidebar/menu to see the “-> Review” button.
I hope this is understandable. I took a screen capture of it but can’t upload it here directly and a screenshot doesn’t really show anything but an empty menu until I scroll up.

Thanks for the report!

Not exactly sure what you’re seeing and I don’t have an Android on me to test with
Screenshot plz if you still have it!

Is the sidebar (drawer) completely blank? Or is it just showing the faded out background and no sidebar?

I just tried again and it seems to be fixed now.
Not sure what caused it but it looked like this
