Feedback - Bug Reports

I’ve been encountering quite a large number of sentences where all of the furigana for multiple kanji/characters are concentrated above just one kanji/character.

I’m wondering the best way to approach these - just continually report them as they are encountered, or is it possible for staff to do a “clean sweep” and identify all of these in one fell swoop somehow?

For example, in the following example sentence, all of the furigana for “0.5” appear over just the “5”:

No issues running Chrome. Big 150+ review session, post-review screen to dashboard took less than a second or so :man_shrugging:

@Jeix
I am looking into it, should be fixed for the next release.

I’ve noticed that if you add everything in a deck to your reviews but then remove something in the deck from your reviews, the deck is still marked as complete.
Maybe that isn’t a big deal, but if you then add that item back to your reviews, it seems to count as an extra item complete in the deck for a period of time, giving you more than 100% deck completion, e.g.:

image

Incidentally, I think it would be good for any percentages over 100% to mark the deck as complete anyway, showing the relevant bar colour (here, the bar colour makes the deck look incomplete, even though the stats say I have 103% complete).

Great! Here’s another one for you then

If I want to edit a note, and I open a grammar point with an existing note. If I click the edit note button, while the button is near the bottom of the screen, sometimes it tries to remove/add it to my reviews.

I think it might be because of the overlap from the floating menu.

I was able to recreate the issue in a recording, but I’m only able to attach images. Let me know if you would like it, and how I should send it.

I think it has to do with something on my account. I have a LOT of reviews pending as well as a lot that I’ve been going through. I am catching up with stacking reviews caused by only doing a handful of reviews after I came back from a 3-4 weeks of vacation mode ON.

Issue seen on these browsers :

  • Safari
  • Orion

But not on these browsers:

  • Firefox
  • Chrome

I see the issue on Safari and Orion, but not Firefox or Chrome, so I assume this issue is related to Webkit based browsers.

Edit: It’s probably not this
I think it’s related to the Activity graph, because that’s always what takes the longest to load on Chrome/Firefox post Dashboard page load. My profile on Bunpro is the same name here.

These are the exact steps I take to run into the long load-times.

  1. Go to Dashboard | Bunpro
  2. Wait for the full page to load (all widgets)
  3. Go to Summary | Bunpro
  4. Click the “Return to Dashboard button”

Expected: Just like Chrome/Firefox - take me back to the Dashboard page almost instantly, with the activity graph showing a pre-hydration state.

Actual: Orion/Safari - takes 5-30 seconds to take me to a fully loaded Dashboard page (all widgets loaded/refreshed).The URL in the Address Bar changes immediately to dashboard, but the page is still loading with zero indication that it’s loading, it just acts locked up. Once the request for user,due,queue,last_24_hours, and dashboard have all loaded, the page refreshes with the new content.

I can’t really upload videos here, but I can make some and add them to my Google Drive and make the links public if that would help. If there is someone I can email, I can also share a Safari’s Timelines recording for the issue, just wouldn’t want to upload/share here in case there is sensitive info that I might not know about in the requests.

I’ve been experiencing the problem on Firefox iOS for weeks as well. But I haven’t gathered any concrete information. For me, it doesn’t seem to always be a problem, and I seem to have a problem loading any page from the summary page (even attempting to visit sites unrelated to bunpro). But If I open up a new different tab and visit the dashboard or anything else in this state, they load immediately.

Essentially I can’t change the tab’s url to anything else after visiting the summary page. If I wait a long time, the return to dashboard button can work though.

Sorry I don’t have anything too helpful on it!

Sounds like a website problem (thus a me-problem :joy:).
I know the one, unfortunately just haven’t come up with a fix for it yet!
Thanks for the report tho – it adds +1 in terms of its priority

When scrolling through grammar lists on iOS app, the chapters can be closed to help shorten the list, but will automatically open back up once the user scrolls past the closed list. Was wondering if the state could remain the same, if closed, remained closed until user opens it, rather than having it automatically return to opened state

Don’t know if it’s already been mentioned, butまず grammar seems to have an issue where it cannot be reviewed and immediately goes into the Mastered pile if you try to enter it manually for review.

Hi there and welcome to the forums! :tada:

This is a confusing one.
I believe this is because you may have added/got it to the Mastered rank, and then hit “Remove from Reviews” it without hitting “Reset” first?

“Remove from Reviews” doesn’t reset progress on a Review.
How did it come into your queue again though I wonder? Were you doing a batch of Learn items?

This is a confusing interaction, so if you can break down the steps/history that led to this, I can see what we can do to avoid confusion in the future.

Hello, & thanks for the warm welcome!

Hilariously enough I just re-added it as a term for review to check if it would happen again, and now it seems it was moved into the beginner category as if nothing ever happened, lol.

At first, i came across it by doing my daily N4 terms, and when I got to do the review at the end it wasn’t there. So I just did the initial review for the 2 out of the 3 terms I studied for that session. I’m pretty sure I didn’t add it to the Mastered rank, unless I somehow accidentally did and I didn’t notice.

After that, I tried removing from the reviewing pile, which I thought that would somehow reset it, since I didn’t see an option for resetting my progress on that specific grammar and then tried re-adding it to no avail, which by what you’re telling me was a mistake, so my bad for that one.

So I just completely removed it from my reviewing pile again and happened upon it once I tried to learn today’s batch of N4 grammar. And again, I was unable to review it, even though it appeared normally in the daily goals I had to learn.

And that was what prompted me to write this.

So it seems likely it might have been moved there by accident? If so, I’m so terribly sorry for wasting your time!

I’m checking on your account, on my MacOS 15.3.2 on a M3 Macbook Air, Safari 18.3.1.

Summary took 17 seconds to load – not sure why. Only did that once.
Apart from this, slightly longer load times on the Activity graph request.

but the page is still loading with zero indication that it’s loading

You’re no getting the skeleton loading state?
Do you have caching disabled on your browser or anything?
Also what machine are you using?

DM me everything and anything! Just click my name and hit “Send Message”.

But yeah, similar to @GEN’s report, we (I ) have had issues with performance on Safari in the past.
Firefox (and all other browsers AFAIK) on iOS have to use Webkit at their core.
Must be a webkit issue.

It’s also worth noting that both you and @GEN are crushing an insane amount of Reviews each day.
@GEN what iPhone are you on?

That was me! I Reset it when I was doing some testing.
Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah you wouldn’t be the first.
IMO I too would expect the Remove from Reviews button to also reset it.

So I just completely removed it from my reviewing pile again and happened upon it once I tried to learn today’s batch of N4 grammar. And again, I was unable to review it, even though it appeared normally in the daily goals I had to learn.

So it basically just kept showing up in your Learn queue? But wasn’t there when you got to the Quiz at the end?
If so then that will need to be fixed!

EDIT:
I just tried to replicate this and I can’t get it to work by simple marking it as Mastered, Removing it from Reviews, and Learning.

Something else fishy is going on!
Please let me know if you run into it again…
I remembered that another user reported something similar quite recently though

Oh, ok! I figured it had to be something like that :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

So it basically just kept showing up in your Learn queue? But wasn’t there when you got to the Quiz at the end?

It showed up normally yes both on the learn queue and the review queue, but would crash every time I clicked to review it.
Meaning that while I reviewed the other terms I had to learn, when I clicked to go to the next one, the review queue would just end, even though in the bar above it kept showing it to me as an option to review it, and would tell me to either return to the dashboard or continue reviewing it but then no matter how many times I pressed to keep reviewing it would just basically show me the same page after trying to load.

Just saw the edit too.

Now I really wish I had taken some screenshots!
In any case, I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help, but if it ever happens again, I’ll make sure to record everything!

Yes plz

If you can let me know, I can log in as you and test the bug myself!
Next time I’ll try that before fixing the broken Review

Hello, I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this comment however, I have an issue with my reviews.

I put Bunpro on vacation mode for a few months, and a few weeks ago, I took it off. It looks like my reviews have been pushed back a lot. Is there any way to get it back to normal? Before I went on vacation mode, I had some reviews there waiting so I wonder if there is a bug that pushes them back.

Thank you.
