Hey!
It might be more related to the previous update, we did some changes to reviews and needed to
re-sync review data. This re-sync did not work for some users and they could have deflated number of reviews for some time.
Eventually those reviews that were skipped for some time synced properly, but in that case the number of reviews could suddenly ‘jump’.
It’s not gen reviews tho, it’s ghost reviews based specifically on gen reviews done the previous day. Some of those I’ve only reviewed 4 times including this one, so it’s highly likely their ghosts come from the previous day’s reviews. It doesn’t seem to fit with the update relay, but maybe there is something I’m not seeing ?
Is there no JLPT practice tests for mobile (android)? Is this going to be implemented in the future? If not, it could be a good idea to add a link somewhere that takes the user to the web version, otherwise there may be no way for the user to know that these exist.
It is being implemented right now!
So it will be added to the apps eventually!
Cheers
I also noticed ghost reviews appearing for the items I am 100% sure I got right, which is a bit concerning. I might have used mobile apps for those.
I see some similar reports, but I am not sure: is the problem already confirmed?
Hi, I have the same problem, and only when I’m using mobile devices. It wwould really help if it was fixed, because it can artificially increase the workload (when doing +100 reviews and them being counted as mistakes)
After updating Android app I’ve noticed that % sign is added to days and items count
I wish I had studied 3703% of Bunpro items lol
Noticed today, what is even weirder, I actually have additional ghosts for the subjects I have had answered correctly, even if I haven’t even encountered those particular questions at all in the wild yet.
Feels a bit like a hardcore mode, so I think I’ll have to stick to computer for now
Using app version 0.4.11 on iOS 18.6.2, I don’t believe I have encountered this issue while the app was in TestFlight and after the AppStore release, so probably something recent.
Yeah, I’ve been having these connection issues as well (in addition to having to many ghost reviews)
Hey!
This bug has been fixed (the % bug and is waiting for release for android!)
Cheers
I am looking into the ghost reviews issue, may I ask if you have them on the website too?
Also, could you try using resync-data (tap on ghost reviews):
Does it change the number of them?
What are your ghost creation settings (minimal? what is the minimum stage?):
Thanks for looking into it! I have used website, mobile and full-version and I believe no extra ghosts were created.
As for settings: I am studying only grammar, ghost reviews “Enabled” from the beginner 3. I think those are defaults, as I didn’t fiddle with any settings
Resync didn’t affect ghost reviews. I have them also when using website, so I think they are “official”. It is not too bad and I found out that the mobile version of the website is also very usable. But of course will be happy to return to the app.
I’m seeing the same Ghost issue. I’m currently at N3 level and recently enabled Master+, so I’ve gotten a lot of old N5/N4 reviews lately. For some reason, I’m getting a lot of Ghosts for very basic grammar that I wouldn’t have gotten wrong like です and これ. I swap between using the android app and website, so not sure if it’s app-specific.
I had to manually delete about 80 Ghosts that were all N5-level grammar.
There is 100% a bug with the ghosts. I use both the app and desktop, but the ghosts appear on both. Maybe they were created on the app? Either way, one pecuilar thing about the ghosts is that they werent marked as wrong so the srs level is the same as if I got it correct still.
During reviews, the question text is always blinking in and out of existence for me. It’s very distracting. Looking at the devtools, it seems like the page is constantly loading various font files every question, with URLs like https://bunpro.jp/_next/static/media/98ac67f95b919b4b-s.woff2
In the font menu, there are dozens of different font files listed all for Noto Sans JP Thin.
Not sure if this is the intended behavior (are you using some sort of font automatic font splitting system?) or a bug, but I thought you might want to know about it. It’s a lot more distracting on slow connections, sometimes the question is blank for a whole second while the font loads.
Hi, I did re-sync, but it didn’t change a thing for now.
I can also provide you with a bit more info :
It only happens on my phone, on the mobile app, and often there’s a message that appears saying my internet connection is down and offering me to either retry, continue offline or wait for connection (most of the time, my connection seems to be working perfectly fine, as i check google to make sure).
No matter which one of those three options I choose, my answers seems correctly graded at the end of the session (overview layout), but when I quit the review session and go look up my gosts (ghost review on for the vocab) all of the correct answers of that specific sessions appear as ghosts reviews.
As for my vocabulary answers : minimal ghost review on the vocab part, but my correct answers are counted as false because I’ve noticed a downgrade in level (adept 2 instead of 3).
I hope this helps, and many thanks for your response !
@Vertdeau
@Vizaern
@CalantheX
We are onto something, will keep you updated!
EDIT:
I think I have found the issue for the number of ghosts created. Temporary solution to avoid it:
When you open app after you used offline mode, do not open reviews immediately. Wait few seconds. Should prevent massive ghost creation.
Will be working on fix.
Stuff marked as “E*” are all duplicates slated for deletion.
I believe @Jake will be deleting them at some point.
Fixed in the next update!
Will make a small change to get this to work.
And yes it’s the way that Google Fonts does dynamic font swapping as you load it in
