Feedback - Suggested Improvements/Feature Request

There is a button on grammar point page to “Quick-Cram Related”.

But I think it would be better to also include current item when starting that quick cram. It is related after all, and probably the goal of the feature is to distinguish it from related items.

Funny. I just came here to say that I miss the progress bar in focus mode.
I understand why it’s gone though.

Two things, I’d love to see:

  • A keybind that when you click or hold, shows furigana on all of kanji. Personally, I practice kanji retention with Bunpro furigana, by gradually removing furigana over time. This means sometimes (quite often), you want to look up if you read it correctly or if you can’t recall the reading. It’s an easy quality of life change, right now having to hover with mouse is also fine, but sometimes breaks your focus and forces you to use mouse for that alone, when everything else can be done using keyboard.

//Edit: I just discovered that you can:

Hold Ctrl + Shift + F - Show All Furigana

That hotkey is kind of painful though, for the time being I’ll write myself an AHK script to change it to something else, but I’d love this officially changed to a more easier hotkey in the future.

  • Additional filter for bookmarked grammar in Cram, so that you can quick cram “Bookmarked that are N4” or “Bookmarked that are N5”. I personally bookmark troubled grammar to revisit it later in weekly cram sessions, or supply with additional resources. I still have some N5 bookmarked, but I don’t want to cram them anymore. That forces me to use the only other option which is “recently learned” and cherry-picking N4 ones.

Can we get a TV category for community decks? Right now dramas do not fit anywhere.

It doesn’t seem like there are any sub categories for community decks so I’d love to see this.

Good point actually.
What might this category be called?

“Community TV/Movie Decks” ?

Good idea.
This will be included in the next release.

Sounds good to me!

Would it be possible to get the review forecast for a longer period than a week ? Let’s say a month at least.
I’d like to anticipate and control my working load a little more.

Can we add our own meanings to words please? Sometimes while running through the vocab review I’ll hit a word and gotta enter a very specific phrase into bunpro for it to be correct, when what I want to enter is more or less the same. Example being
もう直ぐ and it not accepting “at once”

忘れ物 and it not accepting “forgotten item” or “something forgotten” or something along those lines. Not a big issue but forces me to remove my answer and figure out what bunpro wants specifically and I dont wanna have to feedback every word with such a minor detail

Luckily, you can do exactly that! :+1:
Look out for a button like this one to add synonyms - it may be hidden in a “sidebar” on a phone:

A short blurb along the lines of the hints given when reviewing vocab items would be nice to have at the learn screen, I’ve been blindsided by the difference between the given definitions and the hints quite a few times.

Oh neat! I’ll have to look for it on desktop.

I’ll have to poke around more then, as I primarily use the phone app. Since much of my day is away from home without a laptop, when I am home, I’m either relaxing or or trying for immersion. So I guess I should ask for the option on the app. Haven’t seen it, so if someone is aware and can guide me I would appreciate that.

Ok, I actually found it on mobile, but now I found a bug lol. Maybe two? Anyway thanks again Mr Rabbit.

However new suggestion since I’m apparently in that mood. On Mobile, when doing vocab I do not hear the recording. I happened to do bunpro last night on my PC and got audio for just the words. Can that be imported to App as well? Or am I once again somehow missing a setting lol.

Question could you set things so review types were randomized? Instead of it being the same one every time?

I think it be interesting if sometimes you had to fill in, and other times translate, etc.

Something similar to the Kana Practice, but for conjugating, such as te form and other conjugations that are used often just to help drill it into your brain.

While, I’m at it I also think something to practice recognition of godan and ichidan verbs would be good. You could be shown a verb and you say whether or not it is godan or ichidan, this could also apply to transative and intransative, although some verbs are transitive and intransitive at the same time.

Just thought something like this would be useful to help really drill things like conjugations and how to recognize Godan, Ichidan, Transitive, and or Intransitive Verbs.

Hi!

While this useful request is being considered, you can use these two sites for practice:

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but I’d like it if there could be a count of how many ghosts I’ve slain in total on my profile/stats page. This would make it much easier to keep track of progress towards the ghost-related badges.
