Feedback - Suggested Improvements/Feature Request

Hello! I do not know whether this was requested, but I think one of the features that I would appreciate the most would be sorting in each progression card for vocab/grammar.

Within each stage (Beginner, Adept etc.), it would be good to sort the vocab and grammar tab by some criteria, for example by level and especially - by accuracy. Knowing what I am getting wrong the most often would help me correct the mistakes faster. Thank you!

About the B-points shop:

I know it’s likely very low priority, but it’d be nice to have some ā€œluxuryā€ items to shoot for that are higher cost, or more things to purchase.

Even at just completing N5 level, you have enough points to buy one of each of the ā€œbestā€ profile pieces that you like.

Otherwise, it’s a pretty neat feature, I’m just seeing that I likely won’t interact with it much after getting what I wanted.

I know it’s been brought up often but I’ll add my two cents on the subject of unknown words within example sentences.

Being able to click an unknown word and go straight to its info page without needing to stop reviewing would be fantastic.

What would also been nice is if we could have the option to generally mark/highlight in some way all the words that we don’t know (ie not in our reviews according to the system). This could be a little underline or maybe the word could be re-coloured etc.

I find that sometimes I go to check up a word, only to find that I have actually added it but I either couldn’t read it or forgot it. It’d be nice to know at a glance ā€œoh, there’s two words I definitely don’t know.ā€

The other thing is that sometimes I know a word, but haven’t added it because I learned it outside of Bunpro and haven’t realised it. This sort of kills the completionist inside me who wants to add everything I know

where do I find those ā€œDeck Guidelinesā€?

Would be nice if the vocab/grammar point info could appear automatically only when answered correctly, so getting it wrong doesn’t immediately spoil the answer and you can give it a second shot. Regardless of whether you’ll still want to mark the answer as wrong for the SRS is up to you (I probably would) but I don’t wanna pass up the shot to at least stretch my recollection a bit more instead of simply being given the answer right away.

I know I can just disable it entirely, but I also like to see my own notes on words once I do answer them correctly, and one extra click for every single item adds up fast.

@cafelatte Yes the Deck needs to be part of your Learn Queue before you can Cram it

Welcome to the community!
I totally agree. Will try get these implemented for the next batch.

If you want truly rare items, take a look at the Referral program.

The cosmetic rewards are definitely the rarest items out there, and can’t be bought in the Shop!

I’ve been trying to shadow more lately. It would be really cool if I could ā€œheartā€ or bookmark individual sentences that I found particularly difficult to repeat at native speed. Now I’m just screenshotting and I have to search for it later.

I want to cram shadowing basically lol

I do the same thing! Usually for sentences that seem useful in daily life though.

Organise review queue by JLPT and/or SRS level

It seems unfair (yes unfair dammit!) that I can choose the content for my cram reviews based on JLPT level, but not my actual reviews. For those of us with massive review queues (for whatever reason, best not to ask…) it can be really daunting, particularly when it’s all jumbled up.

I should be able to choose to review for example, only JLPT N5 vocab, or only SRS beginner, or even a combination of these two. Having this feature replicated in the true review queue would help a lot of us demotivated and uninspired long-time learners who take long-term breaks get back into the groove by basing review sessions on our personal priorities. What say you?

@lizziemeaow While you are reviewing, if you click the cog in the corner, there is an option for review order.

ETA: Also, if you go to the decks page, decks will have a button that says ā€œreview (number)ā€ and you can review your preferred deck from there. In that way, you can review only due n5 words, and such.

Thanks for your reply! Yes I’ve seen this and use it, but I can’t organise by JLPT level, or have a JLPTxSRS combo filter/order, so thats what I’m requesting

EDIT: OMG this is great news thank you!

Is there a way that the male/female voices could be normalized for volume? I’m doing bunpro N5 grammar, and the female voice is way louder.

I always thought it would be super neat if you could see the movement of your reviews after you have done them. Like a review summary, like how many moved up from beginner to adept, or from adept to seasoned, or like how many more ghost did I create… Etc. It would be a nice way to see your progress from session to session.

Side note, it seems like you guys are working super hard on these updates. I appreciate you guys trying to constantly better the experience!!

Any plans of having the option to answer the grammar questions same way like on JLPT? Since you have already added some mock JLPT tests I feel like this format would be a pretty intersting way to learn

i have 200+ on daily basis :star_struck:

I wish I only had 200 a day 🪦🤣

Spent about 10 days recently averaging around 8-900 and still didn’t quite catch up on the backlog.

Alright, young whippersnapper. :joy: This old man put his hours in. This is the fabled trickle on the tail end of going through everything. You’ll get there one day.

One thing I like about Anki is that you can tune certain days to have higher and lower reviews. Extremely handy for those days you know will be busy.
