Is “見ねェ” slang for “見ない”? That one is really throwing me for a loop.

Yeah, I don’t know if it is just shounen manga but I often see a lot of ない turn into ねー,
So that part would prob be みないのですかい if you wanted to make it sound more stiff

I’m confused about how なさい plays into this one and what してみ is doing exactly. Is the なさい implied from してみなさい → してみ?

Yep, we have this listed on the なさい grammar page. てみ is sometimes short for てみなさい.

Actually looks like I am wrong, we don’t have this nuance on the grammar page yet. Will have to add it :flushed::flushed:
