Notes :
For the names of places or businesses (especially when they are in Kanji), sometimes it can be very difficult to mentally try to translate what the meaning is. Just like in English, quite often there is no particular meaning in a name, and it may not even be a real word. In those cases it is often best just to go with the most common reading of the kanji and hope for the best! (Quite often this is exactly what natives will do)

Note : Although this uses ぬ, 底知れぬ is usually considered a set phrase, and will not take the を particle for 底.

可能性 = potentiality; likelihood; possibility; availability

to deviate (e.g. of a conversation); to digress; to go astray; to wander

Natural : Freeza is afraid of the Saiyan’s unlimited potential.

Edit : Just goes to show you should read carefully, missed the お in おそれている until reading through my post again after posting

translation

Freeza is fearing the limitless potential of the sayans.

use case

犬は野に寝せぬ。
Not sure how to use 寝 (ぬ) since it is noted as にだん動詞 in the dictionary (I didn’t even know such verbs exist) but I wanted to try a funny alliteration

use cases' translation

@s1212z 助けなくちゃいけなくて、もう見て見ぬ振りできなかった。
I had to help (someone) and could not turn a blind eye anymore.

Summary

Dragonball quote? Neat.
Should be something along the line of

" Freeza fears the immeasurable potential of the Saiyans."

Probably some talk from before the fight on Namek when talking about how he destroyed their race/planet due to that and the fear of them producing a super saiyan.

Thanks for the

info on this expression. Made the sentence easier to parse and got me a new vocab

Probably the easiest one grammatically so far (from the few I have seen)

Yay for Dragonball! One of these days I’ll get around to reading the entire manga.

It’s so good! While the Saiyan arc was the only one to get an official color and translation, there’s a team online who’s done the entire arc with their own (imo) more natural translation. Color adds so much to the story, it’s such a great journey!

Anyways, hadn’t learned め yet not 底知れ but even after checking on jisho my initial assumption seems to be correct

Summary

Freiza fears the unlimited/unmeasurable potential of the Saiyans.

Notes:
Quite often, grammar points or parts of grammar points can be found in set phrases. This is very common for some the the rarer types of negation like ず and ぬ, which may sound unnatural outside of those set phrases, depending on the situation.
