Just a few slight translation issues.
その長い猫は面白いですね。Your translation is pretty much correct, but その would be translated as “that” rather than “this”.

でも、あの近い犬は全然可愛くなかったです。Once again pretty much correct, but since 可愛くなかった is past tense, so it would be wasn’t cute at all.

あの and 近い together is also a bit weird as from my understanding あの, like その means that, however unlike その , which refers to something close, あの refers to things further away so the use of あの and 近い would be contradictory.
