最 初ちいさい熊(くま)ビチョビチョて 過ごしました。
然し、彼のおとうさんといっしょには家づくりたがって、と 木材を集める だけど、ビチョビチョをなった。

今日、クリスマス演奏会に行きました。第一部はゆっくり音楽を演奏したから、ちょっと眠くになってきました。第二部の音楽のほうが活気にしたよかった。

This is one of those more complicated sentences where intended translation would be instructive.
As far as I understand, normally てばかり still needs something to connect it to the rest of the sentence. Let’s assume this is a formal conjunctive and で is implied 「…てばかりで、…」. Then there is no cause-effect relationship between the first and second part.
But the meaning of the sentence is perhaps more leaning towards a contrast “learning, but not improving”. So wouldn’t it be more logical with 「…てばかりなのに、…」for example?
