Have you written your Japanese Sentence today?

映画館は再びオープンすると聞いた。

I heard that the cinema is open again (used to be closed because covid).

For the second to last sentence, I was trying to say something with the same defeatist tone as “let’s just go” but couldn’t really come up with a good way to express that. I’d really appreciate any help. Thank you!
「どうする?20分もこのメヌを見つめているけどまだ決めていない. ウェイターさんまで私にイライラしているよ。助けてね。チーズケーキにしようほうがいいかな。」「あんたは乳糖不耐症けどさ。」「そうだけどな。んん。。。ソルベは美味しそうな。」「そうかなあ。」「うん。ソルベは無理だな。。。まいった。出よう。別の店を試そうよ。」

日本に外人です

Summary

I’m trying to say: In Japan, I’m a foreigner

I think you might say 日本には外人です, making ‘In Japan’ the topic of the sentence.

外人 is pejorative you want to use 外国人 (がいこくじん)

i think に is more appropriate than へ as i read へ was more used for big trip , journey , adventure.

I think you want to say:
日本語で言いたいことを表すのが難しいと思う人がたくさんいるんだ。

Or maybe, since you’re ending with a casual んだ, something with more spoken words.
日本語でぴったりと言いたいのが難しいと思う人が多いんだ。

There’s a lot of people that think “the thing I want to say exactly in Japanese is difficult”.

日本語がかきません

Summary

I want to say: I can’t write in Japanese

I’ll give a couple sentences to compare/contrast.
日本語 かきません。I don’t write in Japanese.
日本語 かきません。I don’t write Japanese.
日本語 かけません。I can’t write in Japanese. (potential form)
日本語 かけません。I can’t write Japanese. (potential form)

This is great help, thanks a bunch.
What’s the difference in nuance of 難しい and verb stem+にくい.

Funnily enough, this sentence is proving itself right…

They mean the same thing. The difference is as youve pointed out; にくい is added to a verb stem, while 難しい is a standalone adjective

Both are fine in this context

It really isnt, its just not as polite as 外国人. I dont know where this came from but for some reason its commonly believed. 外人 is not rude.

使いたい多い言葉があるけど、場合が足りない。例えば、僕は「仕返し」が新しくて難しい言葉だので、いつも変な文章を想像して試みている。だが、こういうことは特技じゃないから、ずっと一番文章書くごとができないかもしれない。実は、誰かに思想をくれてもらってくれなくてはいけないかもしれない。

Summary

There are lots of words that I want to use, but there aren’t enough situations. For example, because the word “retaliation” is new for me, I am trying to imagine a strange sentence. However, this sort of thing isn’t my speciality, so I might not be able to write the best sentences the whole time. In truth, I might have to have someone give me ideas.

So, that’s a lot of hiragana soup right at the end. I have no idea whether that is the right way of expressing it, because it certainly feels clumsy.

because one mean outsider the other mean foreigner that why. But apparently this subject is quite touchy =) some media use 外人 other 外国人。

If you’re struggling to come up with a sentence for a word, and it’s something you’ve seen in context, you could always write something about where you saw it. Who wants revenge? Against who do they want it? Why do they want it? How do they want it?

難しい vs 〜にくい
They both generally mean difficult, but the nuanced difference is that 難しい is for something that is difficult for anyone because it’s complex, while 〜にくい can also be for actions that are difficult because of some external factor — peer pressure, embarrassment, economy — that makes it difficult to do.

Ex. When a little kid tries to pronounce “veterinarian”…
ことばを言うのが難しい
Saying the words are difficult.
When you’re expected to compliment your boss’s son who you think is an idiot…
ことばが言いにくい
The words are difficult to say.

ことばは かんたんだけど 言いにくい
The words are easy/simple but difficult to say.

「どうする?20分もこのメヌを見つめているけどまだ決めていない。I’ve usually seen it as メニュー.
ウェイター私にイライラしているよ。you’re not addressing the waiter, so さん is not needed
助けてね。this is a command “help me”. probably どうしよう? is more common.
チーズケーキにしようかな。」“I wonder if I should choose cheesecake”. don’t need ほうがいい

「あんたは乳糖不耐症けどさ。」most Japanese don’t know this word. I know. I’m lactose intolerant and nobody understands. just say 牛乳はだめ or 乳製品はだめ. if the partner knows, then end with よ. if not, then end with だろう? or じゃないか?

「そうだけどな。んん。。。ソルベは美味しそうな。」そうだけど – no な, or maybe ね instead. な sounds like talking to yourself, so second な sounds plausible.

「そうかなあ。」

「うん。ソルベは無理だな。。。まいった。出よう。別の店を試そうよ。」instead of 出よう probably 帰ろうか or 行こうか is more natural. if the feeling is more like “I’m fed up with this place!” then you’d use something like もう帰ろう. then maybe ほかの店をやってみよう. 試す is specifically sampling or testing something one time.

Hahaha thanks, that’s a great idea!

僕の姉はお菓子を奪ったから、仕返ししなくてはいけない。

I actually quite like writing these sort of “meta” sentences, saying things about the sentences themselves or something.
