Fun fact: Every root of a する verb is a noun! That’s why you add する to turn it into a verb.
An example of 運転 as a noun: 運転が得意です。-I am good at driving.
Also you can do the equivalent in English of making up verbs using する. Just add it to any noun! For example, my Japanese coworkers frequently use「リアする」= “To do/pull a Leah”. Which means “To forget or lose something important.”
