I do Bunpro lesson a day (doing N4 now) and write the example sentences on my notebook.
That helps me to understand the grammar usage more and also practicing writing at the same time.

Don’t eat my cake
I think this should be the object marking particle を instead of subject marking particle が as the cake is not the subject, but the object. (although there are cases where が is used despite coming after an object e.g. 乳牛がすき。)
そういえば、ケーキが嘘だ。
Translation:
Speaking of which the Cake is a lie.
Ahhh you’re right. I completely missed を.
I got so into my own head about は vs が that I forgot it existed.
