From my limited knowledge (mostly from rereading the bunpro write ups):
みたい: fairly confident, casual. (reliable information) Often used for comparisons.
ようだ: fairly confident like みたい、but more formal.
そうだ: like ようだ but less confident.
らしい: second hand information you think is correct.
に見える: it looks like it. An assumption made from an observation.

I used to do this on Lang-8 and HelloTalk, but I’d get so frustrated because I always got something wrong. Please feel free to correct me though! I can’t learn if I’m wrong

I do Bunpro lesson a day (doing N4 now) and write the example sentences on my notebook.
That helps me to understand the grammar usage more and also practicing writing at the same time.

I think this should be the object marking particle を instead of subject marking particle が as the cake is not the subject, but the object. (although there are cases where が is used despite coming after an object e.g. 乳牛がすき。)
