JLPT December 2024

I’ve never taken a JLPT exam (not this December either), so I was wondering, when do you guys actually get the results? Are there still a lot of nervous days ahead?

The test was on December 1, 2024. Results will be available around third week of January online (if I remember correctly). Later we will receive the results on a Phisical Copy (if I’m not mistaken)

Will people from outside Japan be able to access the online results too or do they have to wait for the results through their host organisations? I took the test in Germany.

I don’t know in germany, but in Spain, on the Matriculation process we were asked to add a password in order to check the results when they are online on the private section of jlpt.jp. But don’t know the exact section.
I see the other countries section here:
https://www.jlpt.jp/e/guideline/results_online.html
doesn’t have a link active yet. I Imagine it will be added later. But not sure if it will be added there or somewhere else.

Yes, I took the N5 in June this year and that webpage was regularly updated for each results publication with the countries outside Asia being last.

It should be available online by the end of January.

you will be able to access it with this url:
https://www.jlpt-overseas.jp/onlineresults/
its only active during the time the results are online.
if my guess is right, the results will be published on monday, january 20, 2025, at exactly 2:00 a.m.

funfact: i woke up without alarm clock point 2oclock in the morning with the past test result announcements :grimacing:

seems like the result announcement was postponed because somebody got caught cheating resulting in arrests:

now there are several rumors circulating one says 21 january 6.30 am JST the other 22 january.

the tension this year is quite something. :exploding_head:

Maybe this case promopted some kind of further investigation but it wasn’t the JLPT that they were caught cheating on but the JFT-Basic. Anyways, hope you get the results soon

Same feeling, just let me know already

That was a different exam than the JLPT, but maybe it’s related anyway. I don’t mind waiting a bit longer for the results, but at least some official information would be nice.

When I read this I thought that it was strange that this new were known a few days ago. If they were caught in the act, the same day of the test, it should have been made public 50 days ago. If it’s a different test it makes sense that the news is public now as these test could be done in more recent days. (but if the news are correct, the impersonation was on December, so there has been a few weeks since then, so I don’t know)
I hope the results are released soon. This waiting is awful.

I hope all the controversy means that they’ll finally get enough proctors to more carefully watch over people.

The amount of cheating going on around me was crazy when I had to spend 7500¥

Where did you take the exam?
When I was taking the exam in France I didn’t notice nothing, maybe also because I was focusing (desperately) on the exam sheet :joy:

It was in Japan, there were probably 1000 or so people in the room taking the N3 test with me (and a similar amount for the other levels I’d guess) so I can understand that can’t be easy to run with zero issues.

1000 people for only one level?! I see why in Japan exams have to be more strict. I’m glad that I took the JLPT in a small structure in Europe.

The horror is taking it in America. Nearest test site 8 hour drive away. Filled up in under 5 minutes. Only about 40 spots per level per location.
