Funny you should use this one because many Japanese people can’t read it, but I have a friend who lives in a tiny village called 韮山 so it was actually one of the first kanji I learned years ago.

  • Instead of using only the last kana, the final two kana must be used again. In this case, only the first kana may not be the mora N ().
  • The length of a word must be three or more syllables.[2]

This means something along the lines of being totally fixated on, or absorbed in something that you’re almost in a dream-like state (hence the use of the dream kanji!) I don’t think we have a word for it in English…
